Who We Are
"We are a club that simulates the United Nations, traveling across the state to attend conferences, a hands-on learning experience where we take on the role of an ambassador to solve global issues".
Welcome to Cypress Bay High School's very own Model United Nations team! We are a competitive team that travel around the state to discuss pertinent global issues from the perspectives of foreign ambassadors. Currently, our school team is one of the top high schools in Florida at Model UN, as we have garnered numerous top individual and group awards at conferences such as GatorMUN @University of Florida, FIMUN @Florida International University, MICSUN @University of Miami, and KnightMUN @University of Central Florida. Whether you are brand new or a seasoned veteran at MUN, we will make sure every member is prepared for these conferences. We will guide you towards success at the conferences to the best of our ability. Yet, the most important aspect of Model UN is to have fun! Learn about the world hands-on, and make a difference to our global society. We look forward to having another successful year with you all!

Brief Overview
Model United Nations (aka Model UN or MUN) was founded at Cypress Bay High School with the goal of teaching students how the real United Nations functions. Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations and other related international organizations/bodies. As a club, we go to conferences, or competitions, across the state (possibly around the country in the future), against other high schools. Students, also known as delegates, are assigned a certain country and will discuss a pertinent global issue from their respected country's point of view. This club will prepare you for the Model UN conferences and help you develop the necessary skills to succeed in Model UN, which includes public speaking, critical thinking, diplomacy, research, and problem solving.
